97% Mepiquat is a high-purity technical grade plant growth regulator. It is typically not applied directly in the field but serves as a key raw material for formulating various end-use products (e.g., 250 g/L soluble concentrates). Its core function is that of a systemic plant growth retardant, primarily acting by inhibiting gibberellin biosynthesis, ultimately leading to controlled excessive growth, optimized plant architecture, and increased yield.
Technical requirements for use:
95% Mepiquat end use formulations must be applied during the initial or critical stage of the most vigorous vegetative growth to “control the upper part and promote the lower part,” acting preventively. The optimal temperature range is 20°C – 30°C. Application when field air humidity is higher favors leaf absorption and improves efficacy. If it rains within 6 hours of application, consider reapplying.
